ARE YOU GETTING THE BUZZ?

Friends of  JAM may already know that I curate and publish the content for BOMA Buzz every week. The email publication is sponsored by BOMA Fort Lauderdale / Palm Beaches with the purpose of bringing smart content to commercial real estate on a weekly basis.

Property managers do much more than maintain building components and collect rents. They contribute to the overall value of a real estate asset by managing budgets and mitigating liabilities. Property managers also contribute to the community by creating energy reduction and sustainability programs, ensuring emergency programs are up-to-date and organizing civic events. They are the front line of maintaining relationships and reputations with tenants and the community. Not to mention, creating curb appeal! They are the front line for maintaining relationships and reputations with tenants and the community.

Understanding how Property Management fits into the bigger picture of the commercial real estate industry, BOMA – which stands for Building Owners and Managers – has directed that the BOMA Buzz provide a broader vantage point than just property management-related topics. The goal is to re-cap of what’s new, interesting, and relevant to the industry as a whole. The Buzz has included content on a national level that includes financial outlooks to current event.  It also includes happenings related to office, industrial, retail, and mixed-use projects. We also include local real estate deals from Broward and Palm Beach counties.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY GETS RESULTS

BOMA Buzz is an example of how regular email campaigns help with engagement. As a marketing consultant, I worked with the Board of Directors and Strategic Long Range Committee to outline a content strategy, and we continually review our progress. It’s not just the above average metrics that show the success of this marketing initiates either! The management team continues to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from their membership and others. More people are paying attention to the trade association as an authority and resource in their industry – and talking about it.
