An Answer To Your Facebook Question: To Boost or Not To Boost?

If you have ever tried to advertise on Facebook, I am sure that you have experienced the frustration of getting Likes from people (that you know at a glance) are not your ideal client. It felt like such a waste and you vowed not to spend your hard earned dollars on that again!

Here is food for thought: Did you know that the average un-boosted post is only visible to 20% of your followers?

It’s hard enough to grow your following but when only a small portion of your followers are actually seeing your post, the task becomes even tougher. Knowing that number is enough of a reason to re-consider putting your money where your post is.

FACEBOOK MARKETING TIP

To manage your budget and make sure that you are reaching the people that you want to reach, consider this: people usually hang around with like-minded people. So it stands to reason that a friend of a friend will likely to be a good target, right? With that in mind, promoting your post to this select group will help you expand your reach with a targeted reach.

So how do you boost your post? It’s simple! Just follow these instructions:

  • From your business page, create a new post or select the post you would like to boost.
  • In the lower right corner of the post, select “Boost Post.”
  • Choose your audience (in this case, we discussed People who Like your Page and their Friends).
  • Choose your time frame and budget.
  • Enter your credit card information, if you do not have it on file.
  • Select Boost

One more social media tip: Make sure that when you boost a post it is compelling and interesting. There is no reason to boost a post that is irrelevant or outdated.
