The American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA) reports that 60% of people in North America will be making Valentine’s Day purchases this year, totaling about $20 billion.
A small shift in spending to independent business can yield a big boost for your community. In fact, AMIBA states that “on average, 48 percent of each purchase at local independent businesses was recirculated locally, compared to less than 14 percent of purchases at chain stores.”
In order to promote help businesses, the Alliance put together a collection of Go Local posters that can be used at no cost and is the perfect opportunity to create relevant and timely content. Many of these posters are suitable for the independent merchants that occupy shopping centers, lifestyle centers, and local retail centers such as restaurants, florists, galleries, jewelers and other local businesses.
