Awve Marketing recently teamed up with Via Productions to put together a special event at Abacoa Town Center. The Pumpkin Patch and Fall Family Family Fun Fest benefited local organization, Little Smiles.
The Pumpkin Patch and Fall Family Fun Fest event was created to bring people to Abacoa Town Center and provide a free, fun family-oriented event to enjoy seasonal festivities while raising a few dollars for an organization that helps kids escape the realities of major illness through laughter. The event was promoted by 97.3 The Coast on the The KVJ Show. Radio host, Virginia Sinicki, was onsite to thank everyone who supported Little Smiles.
Little Smiles works side by side with local nurses, child life staff, and medical personnel who determine the immediate needs for each child and family.
Being the first event of this kind organized at the newly revitalized Abacoa Town Center, there was no way of anticipating the attendance or generosity of the community. 500 pumpkin were given away while children made scarecrows at the arts and crafts area, enjoyed face painting and music along with an assortment of pies and apple cider. The event was complemented by the regularly scheduled Saturday morning market.
The generous donations at this event exceeded everyone’s expectations and funds collected will allow Little Smiles to provide cheer to children that receive ongoing medical treatment which prevent them from enjoying simple pleasures of an everyday life.
Abacoa Town Center has been undergoing a real estate revitalization effort at the mixed use and retail property. The Pumpkin Patch event was created to benefit the local charity and draw the community to the mixed-used center to see the progress that has been made. The event was well-received by the community and tenants. The next Family Fun Fest, Magical Moment & Winter Family Fun Fest, is planned for December 14, 2013 and will include holiday and winter themed festivities.
