Fifteen buildings from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach are competing with commercial real estate building management teams from other cities for The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY) Awards. Winners will be announced at the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) Southern Region conference held in Tampa, Florida, April 11-14, 2013.
The Outstanding Building of the Year or TOBY honors the best of the best in commercial buildings and recognizes excellence in management. During the competition, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated from community involvement and site management to environmental and “green” policies and procedures.Efficiency in these areas affect commercial real estate property values. TOBY Southern Region winners have the opportunity to compete at the International level which will be awarded at the BOMA International and Every Building Conference in San Diego, CA, June 23-25, 2013.
South Florida real estate companies competing include: CB Richard Ellis, Crocker Partners, New Boston Fund, Inc., Pointe Group Advisors, Stiles Property Management, WGCompass Realty Management, Taylor & Mathis, The Hogan Group, and Transwestern.
BOMA Southern Region consists of 17 local associations with 3,500 members serving the commercial real estate industry in Alabama, Carolinas/West Virginia, Chattanooga, Ft. Lauderdale-Palm Beaches, Georgia, Greater Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Knoxville, Memphis, Miami-Dade, Mississippi, Nashville, Northern Alabama, Orlando, Raleigh–Durham, Southwest Florida, Tallahassee, and Virginia.
